Overview

This is the personal website of Brian Birkinbine. It provides information about my work, projects, writing, and interests. I designed the site to collect as little information as practical.

Information this site collects

You do not need an account to use this site. The site currently has no contact forms, comments, newsletter signup, advertising, or analytics service. I do not use the site to collect your name, email address, or other personal information.

Email

Selecting an email link opens your own email application. If you choose to email me, I receive the address and information you include in that message. I use it to read and respond to your inquiry and to maintain related correspondence when appropriate.

Local storage and cookies

The site starts with the Vector Field visual style unless you use the style control to select another one. The site stores visual-style preferences—including whether you have unlocked a hidden style or arcade program—in your browser's local storage so they remain available on later visits. Those preferences are not sent to me. The site does not currently set its own cookies.

Hosting and fonts

This site is hosted by GitHub Pages. Like other web-hosting providers, GitHub may process technical request information needed to deliver and secure the site under its own privacy practices.

The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser therefore connects to Google's servers to retrieve those font files. Google's handling of those requests is governed by its own privacy practices.

External links

This site links to GitHub, LinkedIn, Instagram, Bluesky, X, and other external websites. Those services operate independently and have their own privacy policies. This policy does not govern activity after you follow an external link.

Future changes

If I later add analytics, forms, subscriptions, or other features that process additional information, I will update this policy to describe them. The revision date at the top will show when the policy last changed.
